Located at 170 Central Park West, the New York Historical Society is a wedding venue where art, history, and architecture converge. Art Noveau Tiffany Lamps from the Gilded Age sit behind display cases in a gallery where their effervescent tones light the way to cocktail hour. In the reception space, an oversized artwork by Picasso hangs beyond the perfectly placed settings. All in all, creating an atmosphere of refinement. One where magnificent art of the past is on full display for guests to enjoy on the night of your wedding.
The wedding featured below took place at the New York Historical Society, with a ceremony at the renowned St. Patrick’s Cathedral. At the beginning of the day, the bride and groom prepared for their vows at The Carlyle Hotel. The hotel, which originally opened in 1930 is known for its famous visitors and co-op-style apartments. Once owned by the Rockefeller family, the hotel has maintained much of its original charm. With my couple properly attired and ready to solidify their union, they met for a first look in the lobby. Emotions were running high as they laid eyes on each other for the first time. But, if any wedding day nerves existed they were set aside in favor of adoring smiles filled only with anticipation at what the day would bring.
With guests filling the pews, the bride made her way down the aisle escorted by her mother and father. St. Patrick’s Cathedral is the largest Gothic Revival Catholic church in North America. Making it a revered location for a catholic union in New York City. Beneath the ribbed arches, with friends and family looking on, this adoring couple was pronounced husband and wife. As they made their way down the aisle together as husband and wife, they reveled in their newfound union. Excitement filled the air for the wedding reception celebration that awaited at the New York Historical Society.
Surrounded by exhibitions and famed works of art, the wedding reception at the New York Historical Society was a family affair. Guests of all ages dined and danced in honor of the newlyweds. Taking to the checkerboard dance floor with arms in the air for a night of festivities. The bride changed out of her ceremony gown and donned a fun reception dress, trimmed with marabou. She headed to the dance floor, with her husband by her side, for an unforgettable evening of enchantment and fun.
