Metropolitan Museum of Art Engagement

engagement session

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a timeless location in NYC to capture your engagement photos. Images of your love story will live side by side with some of the greatest collections of art from Europe, and the far reaches of the world.

There is something about the Metropolitan Museum of Art that fundamentally embodies the spirit of NYC. Accordingly, using this location as the backdrop for Jenny and Joseph’s engagement photos seemed like the perfect scene for the telling of their love. We began our session carefully navigating 5th Avenue. The front steps of the MET are quintessential NYC. Hot dog carts lined the streets, tourists bustled towards the entrance, and NYC locals went about their day-to-day business.

We paused for a moment on the front steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art to capture our first images of their engagement session. The stone steps leading towards the entrance are undoubtedly a work of art themselves. Facing the street traffic, the steps provide a sort of transitional barrier. A place to take a breath before viewing some of the most exquisite works of art, or a place where the divide of the noisy streets makes way to the entrance of the solemn museum.

Inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art Jenny and Joseph’s engagement session continued in the Egyptian room, where the Temple of Dendur resides.  In particular, this room is an ideal location for capturing your engagement photos. A long row of slanted windows allows the light to stream in, creating a crisp bright setting.

Jenny wore a structured skater dress, a strand of pearls, and peak-toe pumps for the session. Her joy was palpable on its own, but with the gorgeous light accenting her attire, she was made positively radiant. Joseph wore a navy suit and a white dress shirt. An elegant, understated look that was perfectly paired with his bride-to-be and the setting of their engagement session.

Jenny and Joseph will be married this coming fall at the Prospect Park Boathouse. For now, you can scroll through their engagement photos at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, below.
