Mai & Cade joined me at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for their engagement photos in the spring. We spent the day walking among the cherry blossoms, capturing every moment of their love story.

Spring is so closely tied to the feeling of reinvigoration. With the trees and flowers in New York in full bloom, it’s a beautiful time to celebrate love. When you think of a romantic spring moment in NYC, you might imagine a walk through central park, or dinner at Le Bernardin. However, the spring season belongs to Brooklyn. During spring, Brooklyn is known as the home of the cherry blossoms. Throughout the season they flower throughout neighborhoods and parks. But the largest area to walk among the soft falling delicate pink petals of cherry blossoms is at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. 

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is over 50 acres in size and hosts over one million visitors each year. However, among its vast collection of plants and flowers, it is perhaps most well-known for its gorgeous display of short-lived blooming cherry blossoms. Which are on full display from mid-March to late April. Making them one of the top places to visit to celebrate spring in the bustling city. 

With the arrival of the cherry blossoms, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden also hosts a month-long celebration called the Hanami. The celebration combines old-world Japanese culture with modern traditions.
