This Hudson Valley wedding rehearsal dinner was hosted at Troutbeck. A private estate turned boutique hotel located just two hours from Midtown Manhattan. The nestled countryside of the Hudson Valley provides an escape for many New York couples planning a wedding. The timeless elegance and rustic charm feel as if it’s a lifetime away from the capital of the world.

Many find the countryside of the Hudson Valley to be a grounding force for serene relaxation with Troutbeck forming a reprieve from the busy streets of the city. At Troutbeck, you’l find over 45 secluded acres which are dived by two bodies of water.

Alex & Jake spent the day before their wedding entertaining their guests at a formal rehearsal dinner in the Pole Barn of Troutbeck. During their late summer fête, the hinged garage doors of the Pole Barn opened up to carry in the distinct warm & woodsy scent of the Hudson Valley. A mix of cafe lighting and glass lanterns adorned the trusses of the Pole Barn. While small potted plants, micro floral arrangements, and lit votives set on the table tops provided additional ambiance.

Having previously worked with Alex & Jake on their engagement photos, we also looked at their rehearsal dinner as an opportunity for a pre-wedding shoot. Typically pre-wedding photos can take place in the week leading up to the wedding. Or, as is the case with many couples hosting a destination wedding, sometimes on the day prior to their wedding. An elegant rehearsal dinner is a wonderful opportunity to use as your pre-wedding shoot to capture the magic of your portraits before you head off to entertain your guests for the evening.
